Go and multiply in Alpha Centauri

American astrophysicists Javier Gedes and Greg Laughlin, and their colleagues at the University of California claim that our nearest star Alpha Centauri, located at a distance of 4.36 light years from our solar system, must contains rocky planets with conditions surface suitable for life.

This conclusion follows from a computer model developed by them, which is a result of calculation of 'outstanding' presence in the habitable zone, the region around a star, the planets with the presence of liquid water.

To reliably establish the presence of Alpha Centauri Earth-like planets, scientists have to analyze the results of the upcoming long-term observations and eliminate the effect of random noise on the measurement. If the assumption of researchers will be true, that humans have a unique opportunity, even in the relatively near future to begin the colonization of other star systems. Thus, it is possible that after the expedition to Mars will be possible to send people in deep space.

A starship schedule to travel to Alpha Centauri will be a small town, flying at a speed of 30,000 kilometers per second with a solar sail to be hit by a laser beam sent from Earth or from the moon, and push the ship to the stars. On board will be 180 volunteers and about a million tons of payload (this will include: a small nuclear power plant with a reserve of nuclear fuel, a farm with animals, greenhouses for growing vegetables, water supply, air purification systems and water supply of compressed air, all the necessary appliances, supply of food, etc.)

The crew will consist mainly of the female suicide bombers who die along the way, giving the first generation of astronauts. Flight for 200 years. During this time, replaced by 10 generations (to do on board will have supply of sperm for reproduction in the event of unforeseen circumstances). But none of the ten generations will return to Earth as fuel will only last one way trip.

This starship, they called "Noah's Ark" must carry 990,000 tons of payload mass, and that "The engine runs on antimatter." Possible estimated take-off maybe by 2040.
