Door In Mars

Taken from the probe Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, an unusual formation that is not completely understood and its interesting morphology.

There is a strange door-like structure at the base of the mountain formation from a NASA image. The first person to notice it was not a NASA scientist, but a Russian reader of the portal R&D. Taking a closer look at an image taken by the spacecraft Reconnaissance Orbiter, he noticed an unusual morphology, which looks strikingly like a manmade doorway.

The object unusual form and the presence of a 'door' do not mean the mountain formation is of artificial origin. The mentioned peculiarities are of primary interest because of their morphology.
